This season is flying by us and soon there will be no more football for us to watch until next season. But let’s just focus on the here and now. Unfortunately for me the here and now was 0-3 for my Thanksgiving picks. Every home team on Thanksgiving lost. The Lions almost got their first win of the season but Andy Dalton led the Bears to great field possession and their kicker was not going to let anyone down. The Cowboys and Raiders game was the best game on Thursday. The game ended with a Raiders overtime winning field goal in Jerry’s World. The Bills were up 24-0 until the Saints finally put up six points but that is all they put up in a 31-6 thrashing.
Overall Record: 24-28-1
5. Arizona Cardinals (-7.5) vs Chicago Bears:
The Cardinals are coming off their bye week and finally healthy again. Kyler looks to comeback and continue his success right where he left off. This game started as a -7 spread for the Cardinals but has jumped that half point because of the bets coming in for them to cover. The Bears got lucky barely beating the Lions last week and with a healthy Arizona team coming off a bye week there really isn’t a good way to look at this for the Bears. The Cardinals are 9-2 on the season, 6-2-2 ATS, and are 6-0 away from home. The Bears sit at 4-7 this season, 4-4-2 ATS, and are 2-3 at home this year.
My Pick: Arizona Cardinals (-7.5)
4. LA Chargers vs Cincinnati Bengals (-3):
This could be one of the best games of the week in my opinion. Two young studs at quarterback and both with explosive playmakers. There is however possible snow in the forecast for the game Sunday. Now these are professional athletes and a little snow shouldn’t affect the way they play right? Well, I would say yes except this is a team from Los Angeles and they do play in a dome. The thing with the Chargers this season is they either look unstoppable or they forget how to play football, who will they be this week?
My Pick: Cincinnati Bengals (-3)
3. Indianapolis Colts (-10) vs Houston Texans:
The Colts held a ten point lead against the Bucs last week and continued to throw the ball even though they have the Offensive Player of The Month for the month of November, congratulations Jonathan Taylor. I don’t believe they will make the same mistake twice. Houston has looked terrible all season and it doesn’t seem like they will be getting any better anytime soon. I could bore you with the stats on how bad the Texans are at football but just know, if the Colts somehow lose or don’t even cover against this Texans team I can’t imagine anyone in the AFC will be too afraid of the Colts.
My Pick: Indianapolis Colts (-10)
2. Philadelphia Eagles (-7) vs New York Jets:
The Eagles getting only a touchdown against the Jets seems like a trap game. The Jets don’t even know who they are starting at quarterback on a week to week basis. I think the Eagles offense is ready to explode at any minute and this will be the game they do it. Look out for Smith and Hurts to have a great game Sunday. I feel strongly that the Eagles win in a blowout that I will look at the alternate lines that come out Sunday morning.
My Pick: Philadelphia Eagles (-7)
1. Buffalo Bills (-3) vs New England Patriots:
The game of the week is Monday Night Football. The two best teams in the AFC, in my opinion, go at it. The Bills lost their best cornerback for the season with a torn ACL. The Patriots Kyle Dugger is currently on the NFL covid-19 list but if he is vaccinated then he just needs to produce two negative tests within 24 hours to play. The Patriots rank first in points allowed per game at 15.6 and the Bills rank second in that category at 16.5. This should be low scoring but I believe it will only be low scoring for one team, the Bills. The biggest difference about these teams is the head coach. Bill Belichick will have a game plan that the Bills won’t be able to handle. I think this will be a close game going into the fourth and the Patriots will pull away with about eight minutes left of the game.
My Pick: New England Patriots (+125)
