Week 10 in college football is upon us folks! So far everything has gone without a hitch in the system. Some teams have had mild Covid-19 outbreaks but they catch it before playing. New week of football which means more chances for upsets. Also, one of the least exciting conferences is back in action, the PAC-12. The games themselves are exciting but unless you have major money on the games no one wants to stay up for Washington State vs Oregon State. They are smart and put the major teams earlier in the game but the viewership goes down. Here are my best games per conference:
ACC: Clemson (-5.5) vs Notre Dame:
With Trevor Lawrence still out with Covid number 1 ranked Clemson turns to DJ Uiagalelei. DJ got his first start last week vs Boston College going 30/41 passing for 342 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 6 times for 25 yards and a touchdown. DJ has a big task at hand this weekend facing 4th ranked Notre Dame. ND only stinker this year was against Louisville but they ended up winning 12-7. The Fighting Irish are always good for a let down game against a good opponent which normally brings their seasons off the rails. Facing the freshman quarterback if the Irish can’t stay in this game or win then the season is a wash. Clemson wins a close one
Big 12: West Virginia vs Texas (-6.5):
Two really good teams square off in Austin. Both teams enter the weekend 4-2 with only Texas being ranked at 22 in the AP top 25. Texas took a huge loss earlier in the season to unranked TCU 33-31 and then another brutal loss to Oklahoma 53-45. Texas cannot stop tripping over their own feet, just when you think their back they lose an easy game. However, they are coming off a big win vs 6th ranked Oklahoma State 41-34. Does this mean Texas will drop another easy game this weekend? WVU comes off a 37-10 upset vs 16th ranked Kansas State. The Mountaineers are poised for a big weekend. West Virginia in a shootout
Big 10: Michigan (-3) vs Indiana:
Michigan still being ranked in the top 25 is a disgrace. After losing to unranked Michigan State 27-24 the Wolverines dropped from 13th to 23rd. Joe Milton threw for 300 yards on 32/51 with zero touchdowns. Milton also called his own number 12 times for 59 yards. No interceptions through the first two games but for some reason the voters need Michigan in the top 25. Indiana stunned Penn State in overtime 36-35 and beat Rutgers 37-21 after an incredible play for Rutgers that was originally ruled a touchdown was taken back. The score did not indicate how close the game really was. Indiana pulls off the win
PAC-12: Stanford vs Oregon (-10.5):
Both teams are prepping for their first game of the season. With a shortened season for the PAC-12 I expect each and every team to empty their bag of tricks early and often. No game is too meaningless in this Covid season and every game counts for more than usual. High flying offenses in the PAC-12 are coming. Oregon wins by 3 scores
SEC: Florida vs Georgia (-3.5):
This has a making to be the game of the year. Two power house offenses licking their lips to get at these defenses. Heisman hopefuls Kyle Trask and Kyle Pitts, of the Florida Gators, look to make their mark on this game. Trask threw for 345 yards on 21/36 with 4 touchdowns and an interception. Also leading the way on the ground with 6 carries for 47 yards. Georgia comes off a headstratching win vs Kentucky 14-3. TIAA Bank Field will be rocking when this game kicks off. Gators win by a field goal
