Way Too Early Weekend Pick Em’

Joseph Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

A quick look into some of the best weekend pick em’ matchups.

5. Ohio State (-13) vs Penn State:

Early indications of game of the year as number 3 ranked OSU goes up against number 18 PSU.  Penn State is coming off a brutal overtime loss to Indiana 36-35.  OSU is coming off a 35 point victory over Nebraska football which has not been a real football program for a little while now.  Ohio State are big favorites and with no crowd at Penn State this Saturday I believe Ohio State thumps Penn State by 27.

4. Wisconsin (-7.5) vs Nebraska:

After I just told you Nebraska is not a real football program why would I put them in my pick em’.  Well, if the rumors are true about Wisconsin’s quarterback then I really like Nebraska.  WISC already lost their star quarterback before the season started and put all their trust into freshman Graham Mertz who had 248 passing yards on 20/21 throwing and finished with 5 touchdowns.  Saturday will be a real cupcheck for the Badgers.

3. New Orleans Saints (-2.5) vs Chicago Bears:

The Bears are the worst 5-1 team, maybe 6-1 after the game against the Rams, to be in the NFL.  I do not know how they continue to win, they still have a quarterback problem, and their receivers are okay.  That being said they are 4-2 vs the spread and the Saints have yet to play a game outdoors this year.  I don’t think the Saints have the mental toughness to play their first outdoor game in Chicago.  The Bears continue to roll.

2. Oklahoma (-14.5) vs Texas Tech:

OKLA is back in the AP Top 25 coming in at number 24.  Do they deserve to be in the top 25? No.  I don’t see the Sooners as a threat to anyone who isn’t named Kansas.  TTU deserves more respect than 14.5 points.  This is going to be a classic Big 12 showdown of no defense and high power offense.  Texas Tech comes out on top and people stop acting like Oklahoma is still good at football.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens (-4):

Steelers are the only undefeated team left in the NFL and that will continue Sunday.  The Ravens are a fake good team who get exposed by real good teams.  Ravens will disappear just like they normally do.  Whether it’s in the regular season or the playoffs the Ravens don’t show up when needed.  Steelers are 5-1 vs the spread to the Ravens 3-2-1 record.  Steelers roll by 21 minimum.
