Happy Opening Day from TPS

Well, we made it. The day is finally here and we at Talking Points Sports want to wish you a Happy Opening Day.

We sat through a long and painful lockout which pushed back the season opener a week, but the 162-game season was salvaged and we’re finally at the point where we can say that baseball is back.

Plenty of exciting baseball games await us today and tomorrow.

We’ll have Albert Pujols’ first game back in St. Louis as a member of the Cardinals after being away for 10 years. Then we’ll have the Braves open up their season as defending World Series champions. We’ll even see Shohei Ohtani do what he does best later on tonight when the Angels play host to the Astros.

Tomorrow, we’ll get a matchup between the Yankees and Red Sox and the hottest rivalry in all of sports will be renewed. We’ll also have a chance to see Carlos Correa make his Twins’ debut.

Opening Day always brings excitement because it’s a new beginning and a new chapter in our game’s great history. There was a time earlier this year when we all thought this day wouldn’t come until summer time. But here we are.

Opening Day is finally upon us and we can rejoice as we reach the dawn of a new baseball season. The pageantry of a day such as this is unmatched by any other day in sports. It’s baseball’s version of a holiday. Fans lined up outside of ballparks can’t wait to walk in and feel something they haven’t felt since the end of last year; the feeling of a new season and a new chapter in baseball.

We’ll certainly have some exciting matchups these first two days of the season. Everyone around the game rejoices in excitement as we enter a new season.

Baseball is back, baby!
