After losing Games 2 and 3 by double-digits, the Hawks managed to rally and win Game 4 103-100 behind Trae Young’s 25 points and 18 assists.

Despite missing his first five shots and shooting 8-for-26 in the game, Young’s floater to give the Hawks the lead with 1:17 left in the game was all Atlanta needed. His 18 assists also tied the mark for the second-highest assist total in a playoff game, according to the Hawks’ PR department.

The 76ers blew an 18-point lead as Joel Embiid shot 0-for-12 in the second half, missing a point-blank layup that would’ve given Philly the lead with 8.2 seconds left in the game. For a period of the first half, Embiid received treatment for a partially torn meniscus that he’s played through in this series. Embiid finished with 17 points and 21 rebounds.

Seth Curry went on to miss the potential game-tying shot at the buzzer on a double-clutch 3-pointer. Curry ended with 17 points and Tobias Harris scored 20 points. This was Harris’ seventh consecutive playoff game with 20-plus points as he continues to find mismatches against an undersized Hawks team.

Young also battled through injury as his right shoulder was wrapped when he was on the bench, and he wore athletic tape throughout the game. Young’s injury wasn’t listed on the injury report and Hawks’ head coach Nate McMillan had no prior knowledge of an injury for Young.

The Hawks’ poor shooting (36.6% Fg, 30% 3pt) led to the early deficit in the first half. However, Atlanta only had four turnovers and produced 12 offensive rebounds that led to 21 second-chance points.

Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 22 points for the Hawks, and John Collins had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Atlanta will travel to Philadelphia for a crucial Game 5 on Wednesday night.
