Aaron Jones & The Green Bay Packers Roll By Lions In Week 2

Getty Images

The Packers ran out of the tunnel to an empty Lambeau Field Sunday. The hollowing quite didn’t match the excitement in the air as Green Bay Packers faced off against their division rival Detroit Lions.

A game that got off to a fast-paced start saw each team score on their first two possessions. Going into halftime, the Packers led 17-14. After a close first half it would be all Packers as Aaron Jones, who already had a touchdown on the day, would bust off a 75-yard touchdown run that heavily swung momentum in favor of the Packers.

A defensive touchdown, and yet another Aaron Jones touchdown later in the half propelled the Packers to win in dominant fashion 42-21, and advance to a 2-0 start on the season.

The standout performer of the day had to be Aaron Jones. With a career-high 168 rushing yards, 236 all-purpose yards, and three touchdowns, it’s safe to say Aaron Jones was rolling. With a multitude of other running backs getting paid recently, it will be interesting to see how the Packers handle Arron Jones’ next contract. The man deserves and will get paid. Will the Packers be the ones to do so? That remains to be seen, but I’m glad he’s on the team now.

The Packers now look forward to next week in a primetime matchup against the Saints. The two NFC powerhouses look to claim the top spot in the conference in a can’t miss game.

OTHER NOTABLE INFO WK 2:

Kenny Clark was out against the Lions, and as of right now is questionable for next week vs. the Saints.

Davante Adams left the game with a Hamstring but appeared to only be taken out because the game was over, and there was no need to risk further injury.

Rashan Gary, the Packers first round pick from 2019 looked good. Gary had 1.5 sacks, and he was the one pressuring the quarterback on the Packer’s pick 6.
