Amber Glenn skates to “Scars” by Papa Roach, covered by Madilyn Bailey. She picked the perfect song for her to show how she feels about life through her skating. She skates with grace and poise always. There is always a fire lit inside when she is performing for her audience. She represents the Dallas Figure Skating Club. Glenn is a beautiful figure skater that pours her heart into her skating. Every performance that she does, whether that be a show or competition, she never disappoints. She tears her heart open just to break free. Perfect lyrics for the perfect skater. She is elegant, and every extension is lifted and done with grace. She skates to this song specifically because the lyrics mean so much to her. She recently came out as bisexual/pansexual prior to this performance. Despite being faced with judgment and criticism, she did not hold back from giving everything in her performance. She certainly broke free and showed everyone she is stronger than others thoughts and opinions. She is an incredible skater, kind, passionate, and wonderful to watch.
She starts her program off with elegant choreography done by Cordero Zuckerman and opens with a gorgeous triple flip, triple toe combo. She does a stunning combination spin and follows it up with a double axel, landed with ease. The passion she feels for her music is evident, as every position she does is powerful and done so with grace. Her final jump being a triple flip, was incredible as she landed very lightly on the ball of her foot. Moreover, she goes into her step sequence which is always fun to watch as she glides effortlessly down the ice arena. Every edge she takes is deep and powerful. Her final two spins grabbed the attention of the audience and the judges, as they were incredibly fast and strong. Amber Glenn received a standing ovation from her audience, and two big hugs from her coaches waiting for her by the borders of the arena, as she skated off the ice. After the short program she finished in 4th place with 73.16 points. Her total score is 187.57 which puts her in 5th place overall. Glenn is such an amazing skater to watch. She always has a smile on her face and puts in her all in every program she does. Glenn is fearless and skates to music that sets her soul on fire.
