Bradie Tennell is the 2018 U.S. champion in senior ladies. She was also in the top ten in the Olympics the same year. During the opening competition for the Grand Prix season, Skate America, she received a silver medal. She is representing team Tara for the Las Vegas Invitational. She is skating to Medley by various artists. She hopes to bring up the points for team Tara. She is a great skater to do this because of the technical points she brings to the table, her speed, and her composure under pressure.
The first element she goes into is a beautiful triple lutz, triple toe combination. Tennell received a GOE of 1.57 onto of the base value of 10.10 for this triple combo. She transitions intricately into a huge double axel. This jump had a tight air position and landed effortlessly. Her next jump pass is a double loop that had speed going in and out of the jump. This received a bonus of 1.47 points. Her spiral sequence did not receive any bonus points but did get the base value of 3 points. The next element was a triple salchow that received a bonus of .72 points. Her stars into her change camel spin were fast, and the spin received a level 4 from the judges. The next jump pass is the same difficult one she opened with, a triple lutz, triple toe. The base value for the element is 11.11, and she received negative .59 points. These points will be deducted from the base value of the jump because the landing was not stuck. She goes into a double axel, and this received full base value along with an additional .55 points in GOE. The final jump pass is supposed to be a triple flip, triple toe, double loop combination. However, she turned the first jump into just a double. The step sequence she completed had high speed and deep edges, so this received a level 4 from the judges in addition to the GOE of 1.30 points. The second spin pass in the program is a flying combination spin that was awarded a level 4 and 1.17 in GOE.
Over the past two years, Bradie has improved her skating overall. She has transitioned into someone who can not only bring the technical points to the table but not the artistry and the component score.
