Caitlin Ha-2020 Pacific Coast Sectionals Championships

Caitlin Ha is a senior ladies competitor skating to Falls by Ennio Morricone. She represents the Glacier Falls Figure Skating Club. Her skating is elegant, and peaceful, matching her soft music perfectly. She takes her time going into her elements, and her choreography is gorgeous. She has the perfect balance of knee bends and extensions throughout her program. Her free skate incorporates a lot of arm movements that compliment her skating.

Caitlin opens with a triple lutz, double toe combo, and lands both nicely. Then she does excellent steps and choreography into a triple flip, double toe combination, which she also landed with ease. After this, she sets up for a beautiful triple lutz that had great height. She follows that with another plain triple flip, which was also landed effortlessly. Caitlin then does her first spin pass, which is a flying sit spin, in which she held the first position for a full 8 rotations. This gives her a level bonus to receive more points on the element. She does intricate choreography that matches her change of music following the spin and going into her double axel. This was landed beautifully, and she does a nice tradition into her next change of music being more of a softer place like the beginning of her program. She takes her time going into another double axel and lands it also beautifully. She then goes into a lovely spiral sequence that is followed into a double lutz, double toe, double loop combination.

Moreover, she does a lovely level 4 combination spin and into a circular step sequence that was elegant and interesting to observe. Her final spin was a flying camel that went into a fast layback spin. The change of feet in the spin was quick, and she gained speed from it.

She was extremely proud of herself after this program. This was easily seen from her bright smile. All of her friends and family were cheering and yelling because they were proud of her. It is always amazing to see skaters skate a clean program and nail every element, and that is exactly what Caitlin Ha did. She skated her absolute best and put a lot of effort into skating clean. It was evident that her coach was proud of her as he waited for her to skate off the ice and give her a huge hug. 174.45 was this young girl’s total score putting her in first place. The results allowed her and her coach to have their jaws dropped.
