Arnold Palmer Invitational Preview

The Florida leg of the PGA Tour continues at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando on Thursday. John Rahm returns to the Tour, headlining a strong field that includes past major winners Rory Mcilroy and Hideki Matsuyama among many other big names in golf. Last week, I predicted that the winner would finish in single digits under par, which was very close to happening as Sepp Straka birdied on 18 to reach -10 and win the tournament. Like the week before, my mid-tournament pick came very close to winning, as Shane Lowry looked to have control of the lead before the former Georgia Bulldog came surging on the back nine. At the Bay Hill Club, hopefully my pre-round one picks fare a little better. With that being said, let’s take a look at the players with the best odds to win in Orlando.

Paul Casey (+3500)

The veteran Englishmen has only played in one PGA Tour event and he performed very well at Riviera to the tune of a 15th finishing position. Two of his three career wins have come in the state of Florida, and with the difficult conditions that Bay Hill entails, the consistent Casey is an ideal fit.

Seamus Power (+6500)

Power has been an up-and-coming player the last year but has had an up-and-down start to 2022. After a great run at the Sony Open, American Express, and Pebble Beach, he missed back-to-back cuts. Power took a week off, and I am hoping that is enough time for the Irishmen to get his head right. The price of +6500 for such a good golfer is too hard to pass up.

The Longshot: Sahith Theegala (+10000)

Theegala is back. Everyone that has been reading myarticles knows how big of a Theegala fan I am, and after my faith almost paid off before a late collapse at the Phoenix Open, I am back to the wishing well. In 2022, the young American has been one of the top performers but is still priced with the longshots since he does not yet have a win on Tour. Until his odds are adjusted, I am going to be interested in taking Sahith Theegala every time at this number.
