The Money in the Bank pay-per view is going to be the first held outside of the state of Florida since Elimination Chamber in March 2020. WWE already welcomed fans back for WrestleMania 37 earlier this year, as well as on Friday’s edition of SmackDown LIVE but this is exciting nonetheless. The Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas will host the major pay-per view. This year’s Money in the Bank is stacked and is sure to be filled with surprises. Here is the full match breakdown:
The Mysterios (c) vs. The Usos [WWE SmackDown Tag Team Title Match] – KICKOFF SHOW
This match stems from their alliances – the Usos to Roman Reigns, and the Mysterios to Edge. That, however, does not mean the Usos would not like to raise the tag team gold for the seventh time. The prospect of the entire Bloodline faction holding gold is certainly one that interests the brothers. The Mysterios are currently enjoying being the first father-son tag team champions and they won’t be looking to let go of the titles anytime soon. This is certainly going to be a hard-hitting match as the animosity between the two teams reaches a boiling point.
AJ Styles & Omos (c) vs. The Viking Raiders [WWE RAW Tag Team Title Match]
Erik and Ivar have been a problem to AJ Styles and Omos for several weeks. The Viking Raiders will be looking to capture gold and, once more, rule the RAW tag division. Omos is definitely quite a daunting man for one to find themselves standing across and, on Sunday, he might prove difficult for the Raiders. This will be quite a match-up of different styles.
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair [WWE RAW Women’s Title Match]
Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair have quite a bit of unfinished business that they will look to settle in their Raw Women’s Title rematch at Money in the Bank. The two previously faced off at Hell in a Cell but, as a result of underhanded tactics, Flair picked up the victory via disqualification. With champions advantage on her side, Ripley managed to retain the title. Ever since then, the two have consistently gone back and forth with their tactics. At Money in the Bank, these two women will look to claim the RAW Women’s Title, and they will probably be willing to do anything to achieve that.
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
RAW: Drew McIntyre, Riddle, Ricochet, John Morrison
SDLIVE: Big E, King Nakamura, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens
This is going to be an explosive match. The ladder matches often prove to be quite brutal and this match has some interesting features. Ricochet and Morrison will probably put on display their athletic abilities, as per usual. This match-up also features an insane amount of strength. There are quite a few wrestlers in this match that many are looking at as favorites to win. Considering that whoever wins could be a future champion, it will be exciting to witness this match.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
RAW: Alexa Bliss, Nikki A.S.H., Asuka, Naomi
SDLIVE: Zelina Vega, Natalya, Tamina, Liv Morgan
The women’s ladder match will prove to blend different styles. Most of the wrestlers in this match already have a developed wrestling chemistry and, as such, that will most likely be on display. Every single one of these wrestlers could see a major boost in their career by winning the briefcase.
Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Kofi Kingston [WWE Title Match]
Fresh off a WWE Title Hell in a Cell victory over Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley was met with a challenge from The New Day’s Kofi Kingston. In recent weeks, Kingston has been getting into The All Mighty’s mind and telling him that he has gotten ‘soft’. This past Monday, Lashley looked more determined than ever to silence Kingston. Kofi, on the other hand, is looking to capture the WWE title and have KofiMania run wild once again. Whoever wins this match will immediately have a target on them though because of the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge [WWE Universal Title Match]
This is a long-storied feud, starting from the Royal Rumble when Edge won the Men’s Royal Rumble event. Edge challenged The Tribal Chief to a Universal title match at WrestleMania. Daniel Bryan managed to insert himself into that match, much to the dissatisfaction of the Rated R Superstar. Reigns managed to pick up the victory there, and that was the last of Edge that we saw. Fast forward to the June 25th episode of SmackDown, Reigns and Paul Heyman were out basically saying there’s no further competition. Edge took that as his cue and made his much-awaited return to confront the Tribal Chief. Since then, Edge has been able to lay out the Tribal Chief, as well as his cousins The Usos. Edge is definitely ready to make the most of this opportunity to capture the Universal title but getting past Roman Reigns won’t be an easy task.
Money in the Bank will take place on Sunday, July 18th. The pay-per view will begin at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT, with the kickoff show starting an hour earlier.
